PASTOR JIM HAGEN
Pastor Jim Hagen was born in Duluth, MN. Throughout his childhood and youth his family moved frequently; living in Minnesota, Texas, Oregon, California, Iowa and New Jersey before finally moving back to Minnesota. Pastor Hagen graduated from Alexander Ramsey High School (now Roseville Area High School) in Roseville, MN. He attended the University of Minnesota, Mpls. and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Pre-Theology.
In the summer following college Pastor Hagen married Denise. That fall he enrolled in Luther Seminary in St. Paul, MN. His internship year was served at Messiah Lutheran Church, Washburn, WI. Pastor Hagen graduated from Luther Seminary with a Master of Divinity degree. He received a call to serve as Associate Pastor of Leeds Lutheran Parish, Leeds, N.D., and was ordained into the ministry on August 15, 1982, at Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church, Shoreview, MN.
Jim and Denise have been blessed with 2 children and one grandson.

Deb was born and raised in Cloquet, MN. After graduating from Cloquet Senior High School, she attended Bethel College in St. Paul for a year and then transferred to the University of Minnesota-Duluth where she graduated with a Bachelor of Applied Science degree in Recreation-Outdoor Education.
While in college, she worked for Voyageurs Lutheran Ministry for 1 year as a counselor and 2 years with the Canoe Country Program. While working for VLM, she met Dave. They were married in 1999 and they have a son, Noah.
Deb joined Elim's staff in the Fall of 2001 as the Youth & Family Ministry Director and finds being connected in the faith lives of youth and their families to be such a blessing.
