Lay Visitation Ministry

Elim Lutheran Church’s Lay Visitation Ministry arose out of a need for the church to be in more frequent contact with its members who are unable to get to worship. It is our hope that through visits by Elim’s trained and commissioned Lay Ministers, all members and friends of Elim will experience the love of Christ and a connection to the church that is so important to all Christians. When Elim’s Lay Ministers will come to visit they talk with you, share in prayer and a bible reading, and offer you Holy Communion. If you or someone you know would like to be visited by a Lay Minister, or maybe become a Lay Minister, please contact the church office at 624-2690.

Prayer Chain Ministry

Jesus was asked by his disciples; "Lord, teach us to pray." Prayer is central to a person’s relationship with Christ. In times of joy and need, in times of decision and answered prayer, we want to intercede for one another. Elim’s Prayer Chain Ministry has had a long history of lifting up the needs of individuals before God. If you desire prayer please contact the church office, or e-mail your request. If you would like to join the many Prayer Ministers at Elim you can contact Pastor Hagen.

Opportunities for Caring: Grace Moments

If you find yourself in a situation where you need assistance due to health issues or injury, there is a core group of Elim members that are willing and ready to give you a helping hand.  These fellow members have volunteered to prepare some meals at the church, to be distributed as the need arises, to persons being released from the hospital or undergoing extensive treatment.  Additionally there are people available to assist with:

q       Rides to the doctor, physical therapy, radiation or chemotherapy appointments, or to

q       Pick up medication for you at the pharmacy.

Please call church office if you need assistance.  A member of the Outreach Committee will work with you to match you with a volunteer, or arrange to have  meals delivered to your home.
