Youth

Elim has a passion for reaching young people with the message of hope that comes from a living faith in Jesus Christ. We desire our young people to have a faith that makes a difference in their daily life.

Music

Elim has many opportunities for you to share your gift of music.

  • Elim's Adult Choir sings on the 1st and 3rd Sundays of the month during worship.

  • Elim's Jr. Choir is for elementary age children.  The Jr. Choir sings periodically during worship and at special events like Elim's Annual Family Christmas Gathering and on Easter Sunday.

  • Elim's Sunday School Children routinely sing at worship throughout the year

  • Elim's Praise Team leads worshipers in contemporary Christian music on the 2nd and 4th Sundays of the month.

Social Ministry

 Elim has dedicated itself to assisting people in need.  Elim proudly supports through financial donations and volunteer efforts:

  • The local Food Bank

  • Western Lake Superior Habitat for Humanity

  • Lutheran World Relief

  • The West Duluth Ministerial Emergency Fund

  • The Salvation Army's Red Kettle Drive

  • Elim's Christmas Love Tree

WELCA

All women are members of the Women of the ELCA (WELCA) at Elim.  Through monthly circle meetings, bible study, Spring Rummage Sale and Fall Bazaar, quilting, and community service projects women serve Christ and support each other.

Task Forces & Committees

Elim has multiple opportunities for you to use your skills and interests to direct our ministry into the future.  Worship & Music, Education, Social Ministry, Outreach, Property, Membership, Youth and Business Management are just some of the structured ways Elim is seeking God's direction.  There is a place for everyone to serve God at Elim.

Elim Foundation

Elim's Foundation is organized to support and grow Elim's ministry.  It's charter directs it to provide seed money for new ministry projects, to support Elim's outreach into the community and to provide an opportunity for Elim to explore creatively new avenues of ministry that it otherwise might not financially be able to.

Meals

Food might not be the first thing people think of when they thing of ministry but it has become one of Elim's most successful outreach opportunities.  Throughout the year Elim serves:

  • Wild Game Dinner in January

  • Lutheran Hot Dish Cookoff in the Spring

  • Soup Suppers during Lent

  • Home Cooked meals each Wednesday Evening during WNW, and

  • Lutefisk Dinner in December
